You light up the sky

Last night a big part of West Texas was having a huge storm. We went thought it a couple of times coming back from Wichita Falls. We saw things in the road like parts of metal roofs and the side railing on roadways out in the middle of the interstate. Plus a huge wall of red dirt in the air making it nearly impossible to see anything and making us pull over more than once.

We got to Midland in time to see an awesome lightening storm (couldn't hear any thunder). Some of these are stills from a video I took. I'm going to crop the video down because it was pretty long. There was a set of lightening (I'm not sure if that's a correct name but that's what I'm calling it) that had to recharge every 3-4 minutes and when it did it lit up the whole sky. At one point it looked like it was coming from the ground up.

Amarillo to Ft. Stockton is about 352 miles.. then the smaller storm at the bottom is another 80-90 miles. And apparently I didn't look far enough north on that doppler because the storm included Some of Oklahoma too.
